Forums are a good source for info as long as you take gleaned information with a grain of salt. Still, they are a good starting point when you have no idea where to begin. Here are a few of my favorite places to look:
- Gearslutz-This is one of those forums where you can find so much valuable information and so much more misinformation. Regardless, it's still a good place to look when you want multiple opinions on a subject. Rather than me post link, just type whatever you want to know into your favorite search engine and write "gearslutz" at the end and you will find what you need fast.
- HomeRecording.com-Ditto to the gearslutz. Not as vast a knowledge base but useful.
- diyAudio.com-This forum is great for info on how to repair broken gear.
Here are a few other valuable resources I use when recording.
- Tunebot- Is a great source for drum tuning.
